Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she was able to move to England when she was sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After graduation she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. Arianna was able to attract several prominent contributors who posted their views on culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her the most powerful woman in media in the year 2009. She ranked in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media for 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became the president of this group. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the journalist and management consultant. Though she shared a close friendship with both her father and mother, it was their bond which shaped her. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities that she's still known for. When she was 16 years old her family moved in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the first woman to serve as the president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host began after she graduated. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
